PROGRAM SUMMARY

The Habitat Protection and Restoration program was established in 1999 to coordinate our response to the listing of the Chinook salmon as an endangered species. It quickly became apparent that a single focus for habitat protection and restoration was not effective or efficient. The County has incorporated habitat protection and restoration into the work programs of the various departments and Special Projects helps coordinate that objective.
