Shared Sick Leave

Purpose


The Shared Sick Leave Program allows eligible Pierce County employees to access a bank of shared time upon exhaustion of their own accrued sick leave and approved catastrophic leave due to a qualifying medical condition.

Requesting Sick Leave


An employee who has exhausted their accrued sick leave and approved catastrophic leave due to a qualifying medical condition, and would like to request Shared Sick Leave, should review the program description in the Administrative Guidelines, Chapter 3.70, then complete a Shared Sick Leave request form and return it to the Human Resources Department.
