EEO Policy


It is the policy of Pierce County that no person shall be subjected to employment discrimination because of race, creed, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, age, disability, veteran status, the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability, or the use of a trained guide dog or service animal by a disabled person.

EEO Complaint and Resolution


Employees who believe they have received or witnessed treatment in violation of the County's EEO Policy must immediately notify one of the following individuals of the alleged action:
  • Supervisor
  • Manager
  • Department Director
  • Pierce County EEO/ADA Specialist
  • Pierce County Human Resources Director

To assist us in obtaining information regarding the alleged action, please complete the EEO Complaint Intake Form and forward it to the Human Resources Department. Reports of such action must be made as soon as possible, but in any case, not more than 180 calendar days from the date of the incident.

After receipt and review of the alleged action information, the appropriate process will be determined which includes investigation and complaint resolution.
