Keeping our riders, drivers and community members safe is our top priority. Vehicles are being routinely cleaned and sanitized between each ride. All Beyond the Borders drivers are required to wear a mask while transporting passengers. While we aren’t requiring riders to wear masks at this time, we strongly encourage riders to wear one if possible. Beyond the Borders will not transport riders who have tested positive for or are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.
How Services Have Changed
Demand rides are still available Monday – Saturday for dialysis appointments, work and other essential trips. Connector routes are running on a weekday schedule with trips available on Monday - Friday. View the updated routes for South Hill/Spanway and Sumner/Bonney Lake.
About Beyond the Borders
Beyond the Borders transportation service helps eligible riders in east and south Pierce County, who are outside of the Pierce Transit service area, access public transit, medical services, employment and shopping. The service is free for eligible riders including people with disabilities, seniors 65+, veterans, youth aged 12-17, and those who identify as low income.
All riders must be approved for Beyond the Borders before accessing transportation. Apply online or by calling 2-1-1.
Beyond the Borders has two shuttles that run on a 45 minute schedule Monday through Friday. The Sumner/Bonney Lake route has connections to Sound Transit while the Spanaway/South Hill route has connections to Pierce Transit. Demand response transportation is available for riders who do not live near a connector route.
