4/28/2021 - Hazardous trees are scheduled to be removed along Seeley Lake Park next to the Lakewood Community Center, May 3-5 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Seeley Lake Park will be CLOSED during the tree removal and will reopen on May 6 for public use.
Hunter Tree Service will be the contractor on site and will move the signs/barricades at the park entrance at the beginning and end of their workday. Please contact Jessica Stone at (253) 798-4089 for more project information.
The Lakewood Community Center is a multipurpose center, serving residents of all ages. The site features a college-sized gymnasium and Seeley Lake Park and trail. The community center normally offers many activities, programs and services provided by Pierce County Parks. During COVID-19 restrictions, the center is open for Specialized Recreation programs and district court operations.
The building is open for district court operations and Specialized Recreation only, otherwise the building is closed for all other recreation activities during COVID-19 restrictions.

Seeley Lake Park
This 48-acre natural area includes a 1.3 mile walking trail that provides green seclusion with young red alder saplings and in the growing season white snowberries and red and black blackberries. Small marshes appear suddenly amidst the brush and in the winter more of the pond is visible.
