Riverside Park
Planning for the Future of Disc Golf & BMX
Riverside Park is within a “Deep and/or Fast Flowing” water floodway. This puts current uses and infrastructure at risk and makes future improvements and expansion impossible. In order to continue to offer Disc Golf and Bicycle Motorcross (BMX) in Pierce County, Parks is working with providers to find a new ‘home’ to offer these activities over the next 1-4 years.
We are working in partnership with Pierce County Disc Golf Players Association and Riverside BMX to discuss the next steps in the relocation project. We are currently evaluating potential new sites for short and long-term opportunities for operations.
If you would like more information about the future closure of this site and future opportunities, please contact Kyle Wintermute, Deputy Director, at 253-798-4015.

- Always be respectful of neighboring private properties
Rivers are inherently dangerous places to recreate. The water can be high, swift and cold as mountain snowpack melts, making staying in control and hypothermia real risks. Logs and rocks, both visible and hidden, pose navigation hazards. Rivers are dynamic systems that change constantly.
- Wear a PFD (personal flotation device)
- Do not use alcohol or drugs while operating a boat
- Watch children near water, stay close enough to reach them immediately
- Have a clear understanding how to use a boat slide before attempting to use this apparatus
