Operations Division - Patrol, Investigations

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department is organized into three bureaus:
  • Operations
  • Corrections (Jail)
  • Administrative Services
The Operations Bureau is the largest bureau and is responsible for all patrol, investigations, and special teams servicing unincorporated Pierce County and contract cities.  In 2016 the Operations Bureau responded to 102,200 calls for service, wrote 51,382 reports, arrested 7187 suspects, and investigated 3614 criminal cases..

The Operations Bureau consists of:
  • Patrol operations

    • South Hill Precinct
    • Bonney Lake Foothills Detachment, Eatonville Mountain Detachment and the Gig Harbor Peninsula Detachment areas
    • Contract Cities of University Place and Edgewood
    • Traffic Enforcement and Proactive Community assistance in Spanaway
    • Special enforcement with Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland
