Councilmember, District 4
Connie Ladenburg has been serving on the Pierce County Council since the voters of District 4 elected her in 2013. Her leadership positions include Chair of the Human Services Committee for the past three years. Accomplishments during her time on the Council include, her advocacy for a Council initiated study on the needs and gaps within the behavioral health system throughout the County which was conducted by the Human Services Research Institute (HSRI); the implementation of a Birth to 25 Advisory Board; support for the Help me Grow Initiative; approving the allocation of funds to start the Mobile Community Intervention Response Team; and providing support to the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team. Currently, the Councilwoman is working to champion the one- tenth of one percent sales tax for behavioral health in Pierce County, as well as trying to provide resources and solutions to end homelessness.
Connie also serves on the Public Safety Committee, Economic and Infrastructure Committee, Flood Control District Board of Supervisors, and the Transportation Benefit District Board of Governors.
Connie Ladenburg, a Tacoma native, married high school sweetheart John Ladenburg in 1969. They have 5 children and 11 grandchildren. Connie received her bachelor’s degree in Social work from Pacific Lutheran University and her Master in Social Work from the University of Washington, Seattle.
