Camp Lots of Fun
Camp Lots of Fun is a summer day camp program for children and young adults with special needs, ages 6 to 21. This camp will celebrate it's 31st anniversary this summer in Pierce County. Each summer over 90 campers participate in a variety of day camp activities during the six-week camp experience.
This camp would not be able to operate without donations from several local foundations and community service groups. Their support not only allows the registration fees to be the lowest in the State of Washington for camps like this, but also allows Pierce County to hire qualified staff members with experience in Special Education so that no camper is turned away due to their specific special need. If you are interested in becoming a community partner call (253) 798-4753.
The Companionship Program is designed to provide recreation and leisure opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their friends and families. Our goal is to assist the school-age participants in finding and maintaining strong friendships. We assist in nurturing friendships by providing different activities in the local community for friends to get involved.
The program hosts over 150 different community functions each year such as dances, putt putt golf, swimming, family play nights, ice skating, bowling, movies, picnics and special events. If you are interested in becoming a community partner with this program please call (253) 798-2997.
