Volunteer Special Events
Volunteers can assist with special events such as dances, fun runs, car shows, festivals, Movies in the Park, Pitch In For Parks, Touch-A-Truck, Special Olympics, and more.
How to Volunteer:
Sign up for a special event opportunity by selecting the registration number next to the events listed below. Sign up for one or several events.
Chase the Rainbow Run 5K - Sat. September 16 at Chambers Creek Regional Park
The Chase the Rainbow Run will have a dance warm-up, food trucks, color stations, bubble stations, water stations, and more! Volunteers will help with set up and take down of the event, work water stations, throw color and cheer on the runners, and help with the check-in table.

Our Zombie Run 5K takes place Saturday, October 14 on the Nathan Chapman Trail at Heritage Recreation Center in Puyallup. Volunteers will help the water stations and directing our runners along the route. Volunteers (ages 15+) are also needed to dress up as zombies to be stationed along the route to scare the runners. There will be a prize for the best-dressed volunteer zombie.

Haunted Headlights - October 25-29 at Frontier Park in Graham
Haunted Headlights is a family-friendly, drive-through Halloween event featuring "slightly spooky" displays and decorations. Volunteers are needed to assist with traffic flow; making sure that people aren't getting out of cars and continuing to move through the event. A safety vest and light wand will be provided. Volunteers should dress for the weather.
Santa Paws - Sat. December 2 at the Environmental Services Building in Chambers Creek Regional Park
Santa Paws is coming to town! Come volunteer with Pierce County Parks at Santa Paws and help run our activities and our furry friends get their pictures taken with Santa Paws.

Winter Solstice Celebration - Sat. December 16 at Frontier Park in Graham
Celebration of the upcoming Winter Solstice and the return of longer days and shorter nights. Volunteers will assist with setup/cleanup, guide participants through luminary walks, and assist with crafts and other activities.
