Disposal Rates
  • Rates are effective March 1, 2022.
  • State of Washington's 3.6% Refuse Tax is not included.
  • Some items, like appliances, may cost more for disposal. For prices, visit LRI's website or call (253) 847-7555.
  • These rates do not apply at the Tacoma Transfer Center (not part of Pierce County's system).
  • Any load containing noxious weeds & invasive species such as blackberries or ivy will have an additional fee.
Residential Rates

Garbage at Hidden Valley, Prairie Ridge and Purdy

  • $33.29 minimum charge (plus State Refuse Tax) for 400 pounds or less.
  • $166.45 per ton (plus State Refuse Tax) for more than 400 pounds.

Garbage at Anderson Island and Key Center

  • $33.29 minimum charge (plus State Refuse Tax) for one cubic yard or less.
  • $33.29 per cubic yard (plus State Refuse Tax) for more than one cubic yard.

Yard Waste (All facilities)

  • Loads under 2,000 lbs and curbside yard waste FREE for all Pierce County residents
  • $100 per ton (2,000 lbs.) for loads over 1 ton brought to Pierce County facilities

Branches must be smaller than four inches in diameter and less than four feet long.

1 ton max at Prairie Ridge/5 cubic yards max at Anderson Island and Key Center
