What We Do

Our Mission

To provide customers with high quality, cost-effective sanitary sewer services in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal permit requirements.

What We Do

Our History

Pierce County built its first sewer system in 1981 and created Utility Local Improvement Districts (ULIDs) to protect public health and groundwater resources. Initial funding came from a combination of federal, state, and local sources.

Since then, the county has gradually expanded the sewer system in response to urban growth.

We provide services that meet our customers' needs and expectations through effective management of our infrastructure and investments.

We plan for the future by replacing aging sewer system components, upgrading to new technology and expanding to meet growth.

Pierce County strives to deliver cost-effective, environmentally sound sewer services to all rate payers.
