The Wastewater Utility treats incoming wastewater so it's clean enough to release to Puget Sound.
Within the next five years we expect to have many job openings due to retirements and expansion of the sanitary sewer system. We will need to hire many new people. A four-year degree isn't necessary for a lot of jobs, and on the job training is available. Technical schools are also a good way to prepare for a career in the utility industry.
Starting Pay & Training
Many entry level jobs start around $20-$24/hour and offer benefits like health insurance. Some require union membership and certificates from state regulatory agencies.
