Pierce County offers many diverse and rewarding volunteering opportunities. Come share your expertise by serving on one of our volunteer boards, volunteering for an event, or simply learn about how you can support your local government and your community. 

Pierce County Government holds an annual volunteer banquet to honor and recognize volunteers who have given generously of their time, talent, and expertise to Pierce County Government. While all volunteers are special, some are outstanding and deserve of special recognition.

There are many ways to get involved before and during disasters. Emergency Management partners with agencies to help residents and businesses prepare and respond to emergencies.

The Juvenile Court has a volunteer program for becoming a Court Appointed Advocate. An advocate is an independent voice for the child’s best interests throughout the time the child is in care.

Pierce County Parks offers a variety of fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities. Come share your expertise on our advisory boards or be a coach in our youth sports programs.

The men and women of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department believe that we all have a responsibility to contribute to the safety and security of our communities. 

From helping a child learn to read to community garden projects and corporate philanthropy, we have all kinds of gratifying volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers serve in several divisions of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and may assist deputy prosecuting attorneys, legal assistants or victim advocates. Unpaid positions are available and high school & college students are encouraged to apply.
