Pursuing a Better Quality of Life
Veterans enrolled in the program may be in jail for one or more of the following reasons:
  • Assault
  • Domestic violence
  • DUI / public intoxication
  • Possession or sale of drugs 
  • Public nuisance
  • Shoplifting

Opportunities Offered
Since leaving military service, many veterans have worked multiple short-term jobs, have a present or past history of underemployment / unemployment and have had two or more drug and/or alcohol treatment program failures. While incarcerated, the Veterans Incarcerated Project (VIP) offers veterans an opportunity to have their strengths and needs assessed. It also provides information regarding Veterans Affairs (VA) eligibility for benefits, health care services and other unique programs at the county, state and federal levels that are specifically designed to assist veterans achieve success and pursue a better quality of life upon release.
