Pierce County Jail Road Crew


The road crew has been in existence since 1991 and is funded by the
Pierce County Public Works Department.

Responsibilities


The road crew along with Public Works mainly pick up litter along public roads in Pierce County. The crew also assists in cleaning up illegal dump sites and also help in finding meth labs along the roads. They have found guns in the past and once found a corpse down a cliff (victim of a vehicle accident).

Crew Details


The crew is made up of five inmates and one corrections deputy. The inmates chosen to work on road crew are sentenced minimum security inmates and are not held in custody for violent offenses and domestic violence. See the quarterly report below for the road crew.
