Community-Based Services


The Aging and Disability Resources Program offers a wide range of community-based services that allow older adults and adults with disabilities to remain at home as long as possible. These services address the needs of frail, older and functionally disabled adults living in Pierce County.

What We Do For You


  • Review your service needs and eligibility
  • Help you make informed choices and access services
  • Help you develop a plan that addresses your health, housing and safety needs
  • Review your situation and help you make changes to the plan as needed

Services Provided


Case Management


Case managers assist individuals to access the services and supports they need to remain in their own home. Nurses are also available to review health needs and teach in-home care aide how to best meet those needs.

Family Caregiver Support


Provides services to help unpaid caregivers caring for aging parents, ailing spouses, partners, disabled adult children, or friends suffering from a debilitating illness. FCSP webpage.

Long Term Care Ombudsman


Serves as a voice for residents of long-term care facilities, look into complaints, and helps solve problems. LTC Ombudsman webpage.

Aging & Disability Resource Center


Provides an access point for those seeking information and assistance regarding programs or services available to older adults or adults with disabilities. This service can range from a brief phone conversation to more in-depth conversations in the home setting. View ADRC website.

The 2018-2019 Area Plan Update builds on our 2016-2019 Area Plan.  It addresses new and emerging issues in Pierce County as well as the proposed budget for 2018.

The Area Plan lays out the direction for Pierce County Aging and Disability Resources to serve the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities for the next four years. 2016-2019 Area Plan includes the proposed 2016 Area Plan budget which allocates funding for a wide range of community-based services.
