History
Opened on October 29, 2005, the Harold E. Le May Skate Park at Sprinker Recreation Center is a result of a joint partnership between Pierce County Parks and Recreation and the Altrusa Foundation, a non-profit service organization.
The Altrusa Foundation applied for and received a State Development Grant for $275,000. The Altrusa Foundation raised an additional $150,000 toward the project and the Pierce County Parks and Recreation contributed the land and $125,0000 for the project.
Local skaters of all ages participated in the design process for the park. The final design is a result of their efforts and participation.
