Pierce County Public Disclosure

Financial Disclosure for Department Directors

On March 4, 2008, the Pierce County Council revised the County’s Code of Ethics (Chapter 3.12), and required registration and annual financial disclosure reports from all county elected incumbents and candidates, department heads and lobbyists. After eight years of practical experience, the Pierce County Council again revised the County’s Code of Ethics to eliminate most of these disclosure requirements. For elected incumbents and candidates, it was determined that disclosure was already occurring through the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission (PDC).

Effective March 18, 2016, only appointed department heads need to file financial disclosure reports. These disclosures are now provided to the Director of Human Resources, rather than the County Auditor.

Effective July 7, 2016, lobbyists shall comply with the registration and reporting requirements set forth in RCW 42.17A.600. Registration and reports are no longer filed with Pierce County.
