The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) outlines Pierce County's future plans for transportation improvement projects and programs. The TIP is the primary budget workplan for building transportation improvement projects in Pierce County. This annually updated document is prepared pursuant to Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Chapters 36.54 and 36.81.

November 18, 2019: The Pierce County Council voted unanimously (7-0) to adopt Ordinance 2019-76s.
November 22, 2019: The Pierce County Executive, Bruce F. Dammeier, approved Ordinance 2019-76s.
December 2, 2019: Effective date of Ordinance 2019-76s.
May 12, 2020: The Pierce County Council voted unanimously (7-0) to adopt Ordinance 2020-55, an Ordinance of the Pierce County Council Amending the 2020-2025 TIP, 2020 Annual Road Program, and 2020-2033 Fourteen-Year Ferry Program, previously adopted pursuant to Ordinance 2019-76s.
May 18, 2020: The Pierce County Executive, Bruce F. Dammeier, approved Ordinance 2020-55.
May 28, 2020: Effective date of the Ordinance 2020-55.
Draft: 2021-2026 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and Fourteen-Year Ferry Program
August 25, 2020: A public hearing was held at 9:30 a.m. to present the 2021-2026 Draft TIP and Fourteen-Year Ferry Program. Due to COVID19 restrictions on gatherings, the Planning Commission hearing was held virtually using Video Teleconferencing software. The Planning Commission voted unanimously (5-0) to recommend approval of the Draft TIP and Ferry Program.
