Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

What is the TIP?


The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) outlines Pierce County's future plans for transportation improvement projects and programs. The TIP is the plan for building transportation improvement projects in Pierce County for the next six years. This document is updated yearly per the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) Chapters 36.54 and 36.81.

Milestones

  • December 1, 2020: The Pierce County Council voted unanimously (7-0) to adopt Ordinance 2020-108.
  • December 7, 2020: The Pierce County Executive, Bruce F. Dammeier, approved Ordinance 2020-108.
  • December 17, 2020: Effective date of Ordinance 2020-108.

Milestones

  • August 24, 2021: A public hearing was held at 9:30 a.m. to present the 2022-2027 Draft TIP and Fourteen-Year Ferry Program. The Planning Commission voted unanimously (5-0) to recommend approval of the Draft TIP and Fourteen-Year Ferry Program.
  • September 2021: Submitted to the County Executive and the County Council.
  • October 12, 2021: Public hearing Economic and Infrastructure Development Committee.
  • October 25, 2021: Public hearing Economic and Infrastructure Development Committee.
  • November 9, 2021: Public hearing Committee of the Whole Meeting.
  • November 16, 2021: Pierce County Council hearing.
