Pitch In For Parks - Pre-registration Only
Many of our County parks now have use restrictions and guidelines. Additional safety protocols are now in place for Pitch In For Parks including pre-registration to reserve your spot and the limit of 15 volunteers.
If you are registering for your household please note that you will need to complete a registration for each member of your household. The registration includes a Covid-19 safety agreement waiver which is necessary to participate in our programming.

Pitch in for Parks is a volunteer based program offered through the partnership of Pierce County Parks and McLendon Hardware. Pitch in for Parks a great opportunity for all ages and abilities (ages 15 and under with guardian) to pitch in and help your community. Join us rain or shine!
Pitch In For Parks is teaming with the Tacoma Tree Foundation to give away free trees. Stop by one of the Giving Tree Events locations below between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and receive a free tree and pollinator seeds: |
To comply with current Safe Start regulations each Pitch in for Parks will have limited registration and is not open to drop-in volunteers at this time.
Pre-Registration:
Volunteers are welcome to Pitch In for an hour or two or the entire time and must pre-register to reserve your spot, spaces are limited:
- Pre-register by selecting the Saturday Date or time frame of interest
- When registering for a household, complete an individual registration for each household member
- Registration closes by 12:00 p.m. (noon) the Friday before the listed Saturdays

March 20 10 am - 12 noon | Parkland Prairie (map) - Spring is in the air! Come help us enhance our prairie life by removing invasive species, plant wildflowers, and enjoy seasonal blooms. | March 19 |
April 10 10 am - 12 noon | Meridian Habitat Park, 14422 Meridian E. Puyallup, WA 98375 (map) - Help us remove invasive species from our flower beds and enjoy the sounds of nature. | April 9 |
Come out for one or all of our Pitch in for Parks events
While we supply the tools, we ask volunteers to dress appropriately for weather conditions, bring gloves and the willingness to get dirty for this community service activity. Volunteers should also remember to:
- Bring your own work gloves
- Bring water and snacks
- Bring and wear a face covering at all times
- Only use assigned tools while wearing gloves
- Please work within the assigned workstation
- Maintain at least 6-feet from others outside your household
