Work on a new segment of the Cushman Trail along 14th Avenue Northwest is complete. The new segment opened on July 24.
About the project
The 812-foot-long segment runs from the Cushman Trail trailhead on 14th Avenue Northwest to 300 feet north of 29th Street Northwest.
The segment is 6-feet wide and is made of porous hot mix asphalt to help reduce surface water runoff. There is a 1-foot wide shoulder on each side of the trail and a 6-foot wide drainage ditch between the edge of the trail and the existing paved shoulder.
Northwest Cascade, Inc. is the contractor. The construction cost was approximately $220,000, and was funded with County Road Funds.
