What's Happening

Engineering: The project is in the early stages of the preliminary engineering phase. Finalizing the roadway layout, and beginning the storm drainage design. Assessing environmental and geotechnical study needs.

About the Project

Planned improvements of 122nd Avenue East from 145th Street East to 136th Street East (CRP 5763) are intended to enhance safety, increase capacity, and relieve traffic congestion. Improvements will include the following:

  • Expand to one northbound lane, a two-way left turn lane, and two southbound lanes.
  • Install cement concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalks.
  • Install an enclosed storm drainage system, and water quality treatment and storage facilities.
  • Install street lighting.
  • Install a new traffic signal system at 144th Street East.

Project Timeline

May 2019 to September 2020: Topographic survey work of the existing conditions, produce preliminary construction plans, prepare a cost estimate, and finalize right-of-way plans, and complete the Preliminary Engineering Phase.

October 2020 to October 2022: Right-of-way acquisition, environmental permitting, final engineering, and construction of the intersection pending funding availability.

November 2022 to March 2024: Construction
