Metro Animal Services | Metro Animal Services is a partnership that shelters, protects and unites the pets and people of seven cities in eastern Pierce County and southern King County. Metro is operated by the City of Sumner and utilizes a shelter provided by the City of Puyallup. Pierce County Humane Society | The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County is a local, independent 501(c)3 non-profit. It is not associated with any government agency, nor affiliated with any national organization. Pierce County Animal Control | Serves unincorporated Pierce County, Carbonado, South Prairie, University Place, Fife and Orting. Responds to calls including animal bites, animals running loose, cruelty reports, injured animals and vicious animal complaints. Other jurisdictions provide their own animal control services.
