Work on the project started May 24. The work area starts approximately 1,000 feet east of 158th Avenue East, between Orting Kapowsin Highway East and Orville Road East.
The project includes the installation of about 600 feet of guardrail on the outside edge of 264th Street East to increase safety.
The project also includes the construction of two retaining walls constructed of spiral nails. The walls will stabilize the slope along the outside edge of the road. The walls will be approximately 60-feet-long and 140-feet-long.
