Guardrail Program (Rebid) - 264th Street East (CRP 5935)
Construction is expected to resume Sept. 27 and run through Oct. 15.
A 250-foot section of 264th Street East between 158th Avenue East and Orville Road East will be closed during that time. The section starts about a half mile west of Orville Road East.
A 5.6 mile detour route will take motorists along 158th Avenue East, 296th Street East, Browne Road East, Griggs Road East, and Orville Road East. Signs will be put into place to notify drivers of the closed area and the detour route.
The section was closed earlier this summer after sliding of the shoulder and outside edge of the eastbound lane was accelerated during construction activities. Asphalt patches have been placed at these locations.
About the Project
About 600 feet of guardrail will be installed on the outside edge of 264th Street East to increase safety. The work started May 24.
The work area starts approximately 1,000 feet east of 158th Avenue East, between Orting Kapowsin Highway East and Orville Road East.

Granite Construction Company is the project contractor. The construction cost is approximately $640,000 and is funded with County Road Funds.
