Guardrail Program (Rebid) - 264th Street East (CRP 5935)

Notice: Closure along 264th Street East

Updated at 1 p.m. June 9

A 250-foot section of 264th Street East between 158th Avenue East and Orville Road East is expected to be closed until June 30. The closed section starts about a half mile west of Orville Road East.

The section was closed June 4 after sliding of the shoulder and outside edge of the eastbound lane was accelerated during current construction activities. During the closure, the construction work will continue and the road will be repaired.

A 5.6 mile detour route will take motorists along 158th Avenue East, 296th Street East, Browne Road East, Griggs Road East, and Orville Road East. Signs are in place to notify drivers of the closed area and the detour route.

Retaining walls
Two retaining walls constructed of spiral nails will be built starting approximately 1,000 feet west of 163rd Avenue East. The walls will stabilize the slope along the outside edge of the road. The walls will be approximately 60-feet-long and 140-feet-long.
