This eleven-member board advises the Parks and Recreation Department concerning its general operations, capital projects, as well as the needs and interest of the citizens of the community. The board also assists in evaluating the funding sources and needs of the Parks and Recreation department. The board takes an active role in communicating park and recreation needs, services and programs to the public governmental agencies, the executive and the council.
The Pierce County Parks Citizens Advisory Board meets quarterly at various locations. If you have a special topic that you would like to discuss, please let us know on our comment form along with your contact information so that we may address your park and recreation requests.
Board members serve four-year terms and represent each of the council districts, two at-large positions, as well as outdoor sports and recreation interests.
