Reduce plastic bottle waste at your school
We offer water bottle filling stations to up to 15 schools each year.

All Pierce County school districts and private schools (outside of Tacoma) are welcome to apply. Priority is given to schools that can demonstrate they are actively working to reduce waste. Selected schools are expected to partner with Pierce County staff to evaluate their existing recycling and waste reduction programs and work on incorporating sustainability efforts school-wide.

You must be able to install and maintain the water bottle filling station. Pierce County will provide 3 filters (each filter lasts 3–4 months and filters 3,000 gallons of water). Each filter costs about $60.00.
