What do you do as a Communication Intern?

“There were two big projects that I’m worked on. The first project was based around Alexa skills and involves making the call center more accessible. Citizens will be able to call in or use the Alexa app directly to get information, rather than searching through the website. It aims to help people get information quickly for everyone. I also worked on a mapping app. The County will eventually have kiosks throughout the County City Building and you can figure out where you are, where you want to go, and get you directions in a 3-D model.”

Why Intern for Pierce County?

“I think interning for Pierce County is great, because the people you work with really do care about you. They really want to give you the opportunity to succeed, and the work that you are doing is relevant. It’s also a great place to meet a ton of different kinds of people.”

Advice for future interns?

“Be as ambitious as possible, because you have some freedom with what you do in this internship. There are so many opportunities here. If you have some idea of what you want to do and have certain goals you want to achieve, you’ll do great if you shoot for those from the beginning.”

Fun fact about yourself:

“I have lived in 5 states in the past 4 years. The five states are Pennsylvania, Ohio, Utah, Montana, and Washington.”
