AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees) Local #120w represents wastewater maintenance employees at Pierce County's Planning and Public Works Department.
The County and AFSCME 120W have held eight sessions to date, for a successor collective bargaining agreement. The meetings have been productive with good discussion and proposals were exchanged by both parties. A recap of the meetings are as follows:
Nov. 18, 2019 - Next bargaining session scheduled for Dec. 2, 2019.
Nov. 5, 2019 - It was agreed by both parties that this meeting is the last meeting where new proposals could be presented.

Aug. 29, 2019 - Ground rules were signed. The County proposed no retroactive pay increases in line with the County’s goal to complete bargaining before the end of the year. The County also shared information about the PEBB health care option. The Union presented two proposals: 1) Inclement weather and 2) Article 3 Union security.
July 15, 2019 - Discussion of ground rules and the County's need to conclude bargaining prior to the expiration of the current contract.
