Engineering: We’re currently analyzing options to reconfigure the Key Peninsula Highway NW/Lackey Road NW/Jackson Lake NW intersection. We’ll be posting an online open house in June 2021 to solicit feedback regarding the intersection options being considered.
About the Project
Planned improvements to Key Peninsula Highway NW/Lackey Road NW/Jackson Lake Road NW intersection are intended to improve safety and functionality at this skewed intersection. We are currently considering six (6) options to reconfigure the existing intersection as follows:
Do nothing "No Build".
Construct a single lane roundabout at the intersection.
Widen Key Peninsula Highway NW to add a northbound left-turn lane at the intersection.
Realign Jackson Lake Road NW to intersect Lackey Road NW west of Key Peninsula Highway NW and create two separate "T" intersections.
Widen Key Peninsula Highway NW to add a northbound left-turn lane and a southbound right-turn lane at the intersection.
Realign Jackson Lake Road NW to intersect Key Peninsula Highway NW south of the existing intersection and create two separate "T" intersections.
June 2021: Online open house.
June 2021 to December 2022: Complete field survey of the roadway, preliminary engineering, and right-of-way plans for the preferred option to reconfigure the intersection.
December 2022 and Beyond: Funding has not been identified for the right-of-way acquisition, environmental documentation, construction plans specifications, estimates, and construction. Those phases of the project will occur as funding becomes available.
