After getting its start as a lumber-mill town and incorporating in 1907, Milton gradually shed its dependency on timber and grew into a bedroom community mainly for those who commuted to the larger, surrounding cities to work.
Today, Milton still enjoys its small-town appeal. It is a quiet, peaceful community surrounded by fields, trees, open vistas and gardens.
Its quiet atmosphere offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of neighboring Tacoma, just 10 minutes away.
