About Puyallup
The
City of Puyallup is situated at the foot of scenic Mount Rainier in the beautiful Puget Sound region, 10 miles east of Tacoma and approximately 35 miles south of Seattle.
In its early years, Puyallup was an agricultural community. Farmers grew hops, berries and flowers.
The city continues to pay homage to its agricultural roots. The spring is celebrated with the annual Daffodil Parade and in the fall the Western Washington Fair continues to be a favorite destination for visitors.
Over the years, the city gained prominence as a regional commercial and service center for Eastern Pierce County. Puyallup continues to serve its residents and neighbors with a strong, diversified economy.
Puyallup has a unique downtown antique district. There are also lots of shopping opportunities on Puyallup's South Hill. The city boasts cinemas, restaurants, a two-year community college, parks and recreation, good K-12 schools, nice residential districts and a lot more.
