Sport & Event Lawn and Central Meadow

Overview

Chambers Creek Regional Park offers two unique and adaptable outdoor spaces below the Environmental Services Building (ESB) for large events: the Sport & Event Lawn and the Central Meadow. Alongside the Puget Sound and in sight of the Olympic Mountains, these spaces provide breathtaking views of the Pacific Northwest’s legendary ocean and mountain scenery. These areas can be used in conjunction with each other via a connecting lawn or separately, divided by an existing gate. Both locations include beach access, ample parking, and road access points.

Boasting over 16 acres combined, these locations are ideal for:

  • Sport tournaments or events such as cross country, volleyball, soccer, or ultimate frisbee
  • Music or art events/festivals
  • Cultural/heritage or theme events such as Oktoberfest, St. Patrick’s Day, Diwali/Festival of Lights, Solstice, or harvest festivals
  • Large-scale private events such as auctions, corporate events, or weddings
  • Business or leisure expos/conventions for industries or special-interest groups

Sport & Event Lawn

Nestled between the Central Meadow and views of the beautiful Puget Sound, the Sport & Event Lawn at Chambers Creek Regional Park is a location like no other to hold your sporting or special event.

Setting it apart from other sporting and event lawns is the truly awe-inspiring views this location provides. Bald eagles, orcas, and other local wildlife are frequently seen here in addition to the seascapes and mountain views. It is also located adjacent to the Chambers Bay Golf Course, a public course most notable for hosting the U.S. Open in 2015.

Other activities available within a few miles of this space include kayaking, hiking, sailing, scuba-diving, beachcombing, and birdwatching. The outstanding views, ample space, easy access, and additional expansion options make the Sport & Event Lawn an idyllic location for nearly any event. It has access to 415 parking spaces and a connecting lawn to the Central Meadow.

Central Meadow

Nestled between the Sport & Event Lawn and the Chambers Bay Golf Course is the Central Meadow seaside event space. In addition to stunning water and mountain views, mining relics line the edge of the event space for a distinctly unique setting. Beach access is available via the Chambers Creek Bridge for visitors interested in watching the waves roll in and getting a closer look at our local sea life.

With five reservable areas within the meadow, this location is perfect for family picnics as well as small concerts. Each area is connected by an inner loop road/trail for easy walkability to each section. Two entry point roads meet at a drop-off loop connected to a parking area that can accommodate 124 spaces. An overflow parking lot in the Central Meadow provides an additional 115 spaces for a total of 239 spaces.
