Youth Environmental and Sustainability Summit


Do you love the earth?  Do you demonstrate your care for the earth in how you make decisions and act? Do you worry about keeping the earth healthy for generations to come? Join other youth, like you, at the Youth Environmental and Sustainability Summit (YESS)! 

YESS is is a youth-led initiative that will bring together students in middle school, high school, and college from across Pierce County on Saturday, April 24th, 2:00-6:30pm, on Zoom. YESS is a space where the diverse youth network of Pierce County can lead, share and learn from each other.

Virtual Expo Hall
Presenter Information

Showcase your environmental and sustainability efforts in the Virtual Expo Hall.  

Possible expo hall submissions:

  • Videos: showcase an environmental service project in which you participated, capture an idea, or important environmental message * (Suggest using Flipgrid)
  • Pictures: photo essay, etc.*
  • Written Word:   poetry, story, essay
  • Music: write and record a song (audio or video)
  • Art: sculpture, painting, drawing, etc.

If your work is social media compatible, post on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #pcyess and include a caption that describes the experience.

We are seeking interactive and engaging workshops/presentations for this year’s virtual Summit. Bring your excitement and creativity!  We welcome first time presenters and mentors are available to help you prepare! Below is a sample proposal and some additional suggestions. Individuals and groups are welcome, and encouraged, to submit workshop proposals.


Complete proposals must be received by 5pm on Monday, April 21, 2021.

Share an environmental service project in which you participated, record an idea or important environmental message, or just tell us about the actions you are taking to live more sustainably in this Get Caught Green Handed FlipGrid Video Challenge.

Join the FlipGrid below to record a response and view other entries. Upload your video for a chance to be featured on Pierce County's website and social media as a "Sustainable Solutions Champion".


Your story can help engage, empower, and encourage other youth to take action in sustainability to positively impact their schools, communities, and our world.
