Pierce County COVID-19 Emergency Small Business Relief Loan Program

For small businesses with 20 or fewer employees located in Pierce County.

Paycheck Protection Program
 Updated Appropriations Notice (4/27/2020): SBA has resumed accepting PPP applications from participating lendersCheck back for updates.

Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) and Loan Advance
 Updated Appropriations Notice (4/27/2020): Based on available appropriations funding, SBA is unable to accept new EIDL applications at this time. SBA has resumed processing applications that are already in the queue on a first come, first served basis. Check back for updates.

Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act

Internal Revenue Service

Filing and payment deadline extended to July 15, 2020

 Puget Sound Energy 

  • PSE will keep utility services on during the COVID-19 outbreak. Customers who have been financially impacted by COVID-19 may receive a waiver of late fees and/or deferred payment plans. Click here for more information.

Peninsula Light Co. 

  • Temporarily suspending customer disconnects and may waive late-fees for at least the next month. 253-857-5950, or email

Tacoma Public Utilities

  • Established an Emergency Assistance Program to help customers during the state of emergency declared by the City of Tacoma in response to COVID-19. The program provides a utility credit of up to $250 for eligible single-family households, usable toward TPU bills.
  • TPU customers who are having trouble paying their bills should contact Customer Service at (253) 502-8600 or (800) 752-6745 and ask about extended payment plans.
