Steele Street South / 102nd Street South (CRP 5849)
What’s Happening
A project to install a new traffic signal system at the Steele Street South and 102nd Street South intersection began Oct. 6. The signal was activated Nov. 19.
The addition of the signal is expected to improve traffic operations and safety at the intersection, which is located northeast of the I-5 and State Route 512 interchange.
Marked crosswalks were installed on all four legs of the intersection.
Construction schedule
Initially, crews removed vegetation from the site, along with two curb ramps. From mid-October to early November, they installed the pole foundations, the two replacement curb ramps and traffic signal components.
Totem Electric is the contractor. The construction cost is approximately $404,000.
