Meridian Habitat Park Improvements

Project Update

The Phase 4 project addresses one of the major issues with the park -  well-defined, efficient parking. The project will update the south parking lot by paving it and adding lighting and EV charging stations. Depending on the budget the project could also include an update to the plaza area planting and a picnic shelter by the Great Lawn. Expect to see construction starting in the Summer of 2022.

About the Project
MHP Project Page Plan

Purchased by Pierce County Parks in 2006, through the Conservation Futures program, Meridian Habitat Park includes approximately 36 acres located in the South Hill area. The property was originally developed as a church and includes the former church building, a caretaker’s home, a pond, and the locally famous "Puyallup Amphitheater".

Parks has developed three phases of improvements to the park that included the great lawn, a nature-themed playground, an off-leash dog park, and an entry plaza. Also, in 2019, Parks, in partnership with the 1% for Arts program installed the metal sculpture to welcome visitors to the park. The Phase 4 improvement project is underway and will include expanded and updated parking and lighting,
