Planned improvements to Point Fosdick Drive Northwest from Stone Drive Northwest to the Gig Harbor City Limits (CRP 5880) are intended to preserve the existing roadway and restore a smooth surface.
The existing pavement is made of concrete. The pavement will be fractured through a process called crack and seat, which provides a firm and stable base, and then topped with a new layer of asphalt to provide a smooth surface.
Crews will install guardrail at several locations through the project area.
The two-lane road may be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic during work hours. A pilot car may lead motorists through the project area during certain phases of the work.
General work hours will be 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. During certain phases of the work, work hours may be extended. Information about extended hours will be posted on this webpage.
The project’s contractor is Miles Resources LLC. The construction cost is approximately $1.25 million. The project is funded with federal Surface Transportation Program funds and County Road Funds.
