ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Improvement Program - 2021 (CRP 5922)
Construction on Group 1 began July 29, and was completed Aug. 17. Minor work took place through mid-September.

About the Project Planned improvements are intended to improve accessibility and sidewalk connectivity.
The 2021 locations include:
Group 1: Ainsworth Avenue South at 110 Street South
Group 2: 168th Street East (Gem Heights Drive East to 171st Street Court East)
Group 1 Improvements
About 90 feet of sidewalk were replaced along Ainsworth Avenue South north of the road’s intersection with 110th Street South. The new sidewalk is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Crews were also install curb ramps that are compliant with the ADA on the north sides of the intersection.
Group 2 Improvements
Sections of sidewalk that are not in compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards were removed and replaced on both sides of the road.
Curb ramps that are not in compliance with the ADA were removed and replaced with ADA-compliant curb ramps. Curb ramps were also be added at locations that didn't have ramps.
New curbs and gutters were installed at sites where the sidewalks and curb ramps are replaced.
Contractor and funding
Sound Pacific Construction, LLC is the project contractor for both locations. The construction cost for both locations is approximately $465,000 and is funded with County Road Funds.
