University Place

ECEAP is currently closed for the summer, but we are accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year! We are anticipating providing in person services for the upcoming school year.

Message from the Teacher

Welcome to the University Place ECEAP preschool!

University Place ECEAP staff are a strong team with great communication. We support one another in using strengths that each staff member brings to the program. Our site serves a diverse community and we feel lucky to have the opportunity to partner with families of all different cultures and backgrounds. It is our goal to make every family in our program feel welcome and valued.

Preschool is a child’s first experience in a structured setting alongside other children and in the care of adults outside of their family. It is the place where they learn the basics of coexisting and learn life skills. It also fosters their social-emotional development, which is an important foundation to have before entering elementary school. A positive preschool experience can instill a love of learning early on in a child’s life!

Children will learn what it means to be part of a community. They will learn what it means to be a friend and how to make good choices. They will learn social skills, solve problems, calming and coping mechanisms, and self-regulation. They will also learn math, pre-reading and writing skills, spatial awareness, physical development, and much more!

University Place ECEAP staff want each child to walk away excited to come back for another year or looking forward to entering kindergarten. We want each child to build trusting relationships with the University Place ECEAP staff. We want children to gain a love for school and leave our program with the education and social emotional skills to be successful in kindergarten and thereafter!

University Place ECEAP staff want each family to view the staff and program as a support system for them, whether they have a child currently enrolled in the program or not. We want the resources that were accessed to be useful and will set families up for success in life. We want families to walk away from our program feeling that their child had a positive preschool experience and that their family has benefitted from our services.
