To provide financial support to qualifying businesses impacted by recently modified COVID-19 restrictions, Pierce County has created a grant program to help offset the costs of business disruption. Subject to available funds and eligibility requirements, businesses may receive a need-based grant of up to $10,000.
Businesses applying for this grant program must:
Be a business or non-profit with one of the following establishment types:
Restaurants, caterers, taprooms, and similar eating and drinking establishments that do not have a drive-through
Arts and culture establishments such as theaters, museums, and entertainment venues
Fitness facilities, gyms, and bowling centers
Be a business physically located anywhere in Pierce County including incorporated cities
Have 20 or fewer full-time equivalent employees (including business owner) except that eating and drinking establishments shall have no full-time equivalent employee limit
Be an independent business and not a corporate chain or corporate franchise
Be a business operating consistent with current state and local COVID-19 guidance that has not filed for bankruptcy
Grant funds may be taxable income; please consult with your financial advisor for guidance; a 1099 will be issued to a grant recipient as required by the IRS.
