Horsehaven Creek Culvert Replacement at 150th Ave E

Project Description

The Horsehaven Creek Culvert Retrofit project at 150th Avenue East near Orting is planned for summer 2023.

The planned improvements for this project include removing the existing 36-inch culvert at 150th Avenue East, which currently does not meet the fish passage requirements, and replacing it with a larger concrete structure at the crossings. The project is also designed to reduce flood risk.

Pierce County completed a similar culvert replacement project on 188th Street East (D231) in 2022.

The goal of this projects is to improve fish passage and address flooding issues on Horsehaven Creek, where it crosses under the roads.
