ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Improvement Program - 2023 (CRP 5934)

What’s Happening

Project work is expected to begin on Monday, July 17, 2023. When the work begins, the Contractor, R.L. Alia Company, will be on-site posting project signs.

During project work, travelers may expect interruptions to all modes of traffic, but there will still be access through the site.

Starting Thursday, Aug. 10, through Thursday, Aug. 24, no right turns will be permitted from Spanaway Loop Road South onto Tule Lake Road South during work hours, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. A detour will be in place using 116th Street South and Ainsworth Avenue South, as shown on the map below.

Planned improvements for the ADA Improvement Program - 2023 are intended to improve accessibility and sidewalk connectivity at various locations throughout the county, and include the following:

  • Removing and reconstructing existing curb ramps.
  • Adding new curb ramps where needed.
  • Evaluating sidewalks within the project area that do not meet ADA requirements.
