What’s Happening
Engineering: We are beginning the preliminary engineering for the project which includes collecting field information and creating right-of-way and construction plans.
Land: Additional right-of-way needs will be assessed.
Environmental: Necessary environmental permits will be obtained.
Surveying: County surveyors will be in the area gathering field data for the project.

Planned improvements to 168th Street East from B Street East to 13th Avenue Court East are intended to increase pedestrian accessibility and sidewalk connectivity, and include the following:
Adding asphalt concrete walkway with curb and buffer separation on the north side of 168th Street East
Constructing curb ramps
Installing speed feedback signs
Installing school speed zone signs
Adding school speed zone designation
Adding pedestrian crosswalk markings and illumination at the east and west ends of the project for crossings on 168th Street East
December 2021 to March 2022: Complete field surveys.
March 2022 to December 2023: Complete preliminary engineering and right-of-way plans.
December 2023 and Beyond: Right-of-way acquisition, environmental documentation, final plans, specifications, estimates, and construction (currently scheduled for 2025).
