What's Happening

Engineering: We are beginning the preliminary engineering for the project which includes collecting field information and creating right-of-way and construction plans.

 

Land: Additional right-of-way needs will be assessed.

 

Environmental: Necessary environmental permits will be obtained.

 

Surveying: County surveyors will be in the area gathering field data for the project.

About the Project

Planned improvements to 168th Street East from B Street East to 13th Avenue Court East (CRP 5937) are intended to increase pedestrian accessibility and sidewalk connectivity, and include the following:

 

  • Adding asphalt concrete walkway with curb and buffer separation on the north side of 168th Street East
  • Constructing curb ramps
  • Installing speed feedback signs
  • Installing school speed zone signs  
  • Adding school speed zone designation
  • Adding pedestrian crosswalk markings and illumination at the east and west ends of the project for crossings on 168th Street East

Project Timeline

December 2021 to March 2022: Complete field surveys.

 

March 2022 to December 2023: Complete preliminary engineering and right-of-way plans.

 

December 2023 and Beyond: Right-of-way acquisition, environmental documentation, final plans, specifications, estimates, and construction (currently scheduled for 2025).
