Bridge #26211-A Fox Island Bridge Girder Repair (CRP 5949)

FOX ISLAND BRIDGE REPAIR PROJECT

Due to permitting and submittal requirements, the repair project is now expected to begin after October 1, 2023. The Fox Island Bridge girder repair project will focus on degraded bearings on the mainland end of the bridge, Pier 17 and Pier 20.

  • This work is expected to take 1.5 months to complete.

  • The bridge may be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic during active construction.

  • Flaggers will direct traffic as needed during work hours.

  • The bridge will be closed several times for short periods at night during the project.

  • We will provide notice prior to these short closures including variable message boards.

  June 2022 Community Meeting

Pierce County Planning and Public Works staff gave updates about this repair project and shared details with the public about plans for a full Type, Size, and Location Study for replacement of the bridge. Get the meeting details and watch the live recording.
