General scholarships are based on income and family size, and are available to anyone who qualifies, including seniors and people with disabilities. Scholarships help make our programs and activities more accessible to the community and can provide discounts for programs and activities at any Pierce County Parks and Recreation facility. Opportunities include classes, camps, youth athletics, specialized population programs, nature-based learning programs.

Youth recreation programs offered by Pierce County Parks (ages 21 and under)
Depending on your household size and income, qualifying individuals may get 50% of fees covered toward registration fees up to $300 maximum per household per calendar year as long as funds are available.
Scholarship eligibility levels are determined by Tacoma/Pierce County HUD Metro FMR Area Income Limits.
Household Size is defined as those on your Income Tax return and/or all individuals living in your home that you care for.
Total Household Income is defined as the total income before taxes of all adult household members for the year.
