The Parks Natural Lands Program is designing and constructing walking paths through the shady forest at Meridian Habitat Park. The new trails will wind through a forested natural area adjacent to wetlands. Once complete we invite you to enjoy the forest and connect with nature but please stay on the official trails, keep all pets on a leash, and do not pick flowers or vegetation.
This project includes:
Creating an ADA-accessible outdoor Nature Learning area
Constructing half-mile of soft-surface trails
Restoring habitat by removing invasive species and planting natives
Trail construction begins in June 2022, native planting will begin in the fall. If you would like to support and volunteer on Natural Lands Projects or become a Volunteer Steward please check out our Pitch In For Parks website.
