Planned improvements for the 2023 Road Safety Program - Guardrail and Centerline Rumble Strips project involves installing guardrail and centerline rumble strips at various locations throughout the County. The locations include:
Group 1: Sumner Tapps Highway
Install guardrail on the northbound lane between South Tapps Drive East and 36th Street East.
Group 2: Orting Kapowsin Highway East
Install guardrail on the southbound lane between 218th Street East to 214th Street East.
Group 3: Waller Road East
Install centerline rumble strips between Brookdale Road East to the railroad crossing north of Chesney Road East.
Petersen Brothers is the project contractor. The construction cost is approximately $263,000 and is funded by federal Highway Safety Improvement Program funds.
