image of Sahale Outdoors logoDeep Roots Day Camp, with Sahale Outdoors and Pierce County Parks, offers nature-based camps designed to get preschoolers outdoors and experience the magic of nature in a hands-on fun way. 

Campers will learn about the natural world around them at the outdoor nature classroom of Meridian Habitat Park.

Camps run for half-days, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will include fun nature and science-based activities, child-led trail exploration, take-home projects, games, and more. All camp supplies and light snacks will be provided.

  • For: Preschoolers (ages 4-6)
    • Campers must be potty trained and be able to be away from their caregiver for 4 hours
  • Location: Meridian Habitat Park, 14422 Meridian E. Puyallup, WA 98375 (map)
  • Instructor: Sahale Outdoor Educators

Fee and Schedule Options:

  •  $200/camper - 5 days/week (Monday-Friday)
  • $120/camper - 3 days/week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
  • $80/camper - 2 days/week (Tuesday & Thursday)

What is needed for camp?


Campers should bring:

  • backpack
  • jacket
  • clothes for the weather (rain boots, hats, etc.)
  • sun protection (sunscreen, glasses, hats, etc.)
  • change of clothes and extra socks
  • water bottle
  • snacks (snacks provided will try to accommodate food allergies, we encourage you to pack and bring snacks if concerned about allergies.)
