Help Design Sprinker's Outdoor Fitness Court

Sprinker Call to Artists

The Pierce County Arts Commission (PCAC) has partnered with National Fitness Campaign (NFC) and Pierce County Parks to install an outdoor Fitness Court at Sprinker Recreation Center (Sprinker).

As part of this project, the County is in search of digitized artwork to be featured on Sprinker's outdoor multipurpose training wall.  Inclusion and reflection of the surrounding community are key priorities for this project. Any artist who lives, works or studies in Pierce County and is 14 years of age or older is welcome to apply. A priority will be made for artists who are from the Parkland or Spanaway communities.  Artists can submit up to three (3) entries.

The selected artist will be paid a grant amount of $5,000 for the completed design upon final installation of the artwork by National Fitness Campaign.

SUGGESTED THEMES:  The goal is to create a welcoming space that invites the public to utilize the equipment and contributes to the overall welcoming atmosphere of the park while reflecting the local community. Inclusion and reflection of the surrounding community are key priorities for this project. Works are encouraged to use one of the following themes: 

  1. Health & wellness/ fitness activities
  2. Community identity or community reflective designs
  3. Historical/ cultural reflections of the immediate community
  4. Other community suggested themes
